McLEAN, VA, March 27, 2008 – QinetiQ North America’s Technology Solutions Group announced today that its LAST® Armor Division has received a $16.3 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide add-on armor kits for C-5 aircraft. LAST® Armor, the largest approved supplier of armor for fixed-wing aircraft in the United States, already supports C-130s and C-17s with add-on armor. The contractor for this effort is the 330th Contracting Aircraft Sustainment Wing at Robins AFB, GA. “Add-on armor helps protect aircrews and vital aircraft systems so that personnel can operate more safely in combat zones,” said Dr. William Ribich, President of the Technology Solutions Group. “We are proud that the Air Force has had success with our armor and welcome the opportunity to expand our effort to kits for the C-5s.” “The LAST Armor team’s hard work and dedication was vital to the C-5 in supporting its urgent and compelling need to provide armor to the entire C-5 fleet,” said Thomas Chester, Robins AFB program manager. “This effort will provide protection, survivability of crew and aircraft, and allow for operation of aircraft in critical locations.” About QinetiQ North America Technology Solutions Group
