Foster-Miller has spent many years working on far-reaching technological breakthroughs with DARPA, including investigations of robotics, composites, coatings, communications and structures. LAST Armor was developed in the late 1980s with DARPA and is used worldwide today. DARPA was also a major contributor to the development of our family of TALONTM robots particularly the initial explorations of using robots underwater to detect mines. We are also currently working with them on high-expansion deployable structures and new uses for smart materials.
